About the Program

The Living Well program was developed by the Research and Training Center on Disability in Rural Communities at the University of Montana and the RTC/IL at the University of Kansas. The online course is narrated by Craig Ravesloot, Ph.D., one of the program’s creators at the University of Montana.

Funding came from the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research.

The original project was developed for people with physical disabilities, but the information and skills it teaches are valuable for anyone who wants to improve his or her health and enjoyment of life.

The results of the original research project were very positive. Over 1,000 people in 32 states reported improvements in their health — as well as a decline in costs for medical services.
